— 150 — new sources for developing of the history of middleaged Sogd as a self- consistent subject but not in the common history of Middle Asia or in prehistory of the republics which had taken place on its territory. The main attention, as the author of the article considers, should be paid now to the inner history of the country, to the consecutivly studying, as new facts of its individual problems are discovered, first the problems of concrete economy, which almost were not studied and now there are all necessary premises for this. Stressing the great importance of the archeological works in Middle Asia which had contributed in the 20-s to the closest connections of the oriental studies in Russia with the Middle Asian theme, the author notes the necessity of the publication in the nearest future of complex catalo gues of the new great number of archealogical material, including coins and inscriptions without which the further studying and usage of these valuable sources can’t be successful.
